This is an exciting opportunity to join Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the largest single site specialist heart and chest hospital in the country. Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital was recently rated outstanding by the Quality Care Commission for the second time and was the first specialist Trust to have received this rating.
The Trust serves a catchment area of 2.8 million people, spanning Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man, and increasingly we receive referrals from outside these areas for highly specialised services such as complex aortic surgery, minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery and ACHD services for which LHCH provides a level 1 service for NW England in conjunction with the Liverpool Partnership including Alder Hey, Royal Liverpool and Liverpool Womens' Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the Patient Pathway Co-Ordinator is to provide comprehensive administrative support within the Radiology Department.
The main duties of the role will include planning, organising, and co-ordinating the work of the department whilst supporting the booking and reception team. The Pathway Co-Ordinator will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision and be able to demonstrate flexibility and use their own initiative to carry out duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation.
The Pathway Co-Ordinator will provide a confident professional service to all patients, Consultants and radiographers and subsequently facilitate efficient daily running of the department administrative processes. It is vital that confidentiality be maintained at all times.
The successful candidate will be working within the established administrative team and will have line management responsibilities for a small administrative team. It is key that they are able to build strong working relationships with all members of the team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong performance background and have experience of working within a performance framework.
