Job summary

The Innovation Agency Coaching Academy are looking for Coaching Associates from diverse backgrounds and industries to join our Associate Bank to deliver new and exciting commissions from health and care organisations and systems.

The successful candidates will lead and contribute to activities including programme management, educational programme design, coaching and facilitation and direct work with teams and organisations across the North West Coast.

As an Associate you will be part of a small, creative team that has a reputation for excellence in design and programme delivery. You can expect to feel valued and work closely with colleagues from within the Innovation Agency and across a variety of sectors.

This role would suit someone who values a flexible approach to work and who enjoys working remotely with occasional commitments for face to face meetings and workshops.

Main duties of the job

Our Associates will have expertise in one or more of the following: 

  • Design and delivery of learning and development; coaching; education; innovative and engaging methods of facilitation

  • Knowledge translating into practice methods from effectiveness/related field e.g., research, evaluation, education, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement.

  • Experience in successfully designing and delivering a range of learning, coaching, training and development, collaboration workshops.

  • Expertise in designing and delivering online learning materials for learning platforms, e.g., Moodle, Future NHS.

  • Expertise in project and programme management, including strategy development.

JOB SUMMARY

The Programme Manager will have responsibility for leading, mobilising, design and delivery of a variety of coaching, education and facilitation of programmes across the whole of the geographic region, allocated by the Associate Director of Culture and Workforce and the Head of Programmes (Coaching Academy) and in partnership with stakeholders and members.

There is a requirement to work collaboratively as well as independently and to agreed timetables. The post holder will build productive relationships with a network of partners and colleagues across the region, and with NHS England, NHSI and NHS Leadership Academy He or she will have the capacity, experience and standing to impact on culture and action across a wide and varied community, including influencing decisions at board level.

The Programme Manager will ensure that the Head of Programmes is updated on a regular basis and will prepare responsive briefs required for specific purposes for evaluation and revision of Coaching Academy programmes.

The role will enjoy a degree of autonomy while being accountable to the Associate Director Culture and Workforce.

They will have the capacity, experience and standing to impact on capabilities for spread and adoption and innovation culture locally, regionally and nationally. The role may involve considerable travel across the geography of the Innovation Agency and nationally.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive and support the planning, management and delivery of key Coaching Academy programmes and projects across the North West Coast, including the development of plans with appropriate phasing timescales and budgets to ensure the Coaching Academy programme delivers against key project milestones using approved Innovation Agency project planning approaches.

  • Adhere to systems for tracking and reporting against these in order to ensure robust financial management and enable accurate reports to be provided for the Associate Director and the Innovation Agency Board.

  • Build and maintain good relationships with senior staff in key agencies such as Health Education England (North West), NHS England, NHS Improvement, NHS Leadership Academy etc.

  • Develop bespoke content for Coaching Academy programmes and workshops

  • Lead specific education and development programmes, overseeing operational delivery, programme design to curriculum specifications and gather evaluative data to inform future programmes.

  • Ensure delivery of programmes to high standards. Develop supportive and sustainable learning curriculum and outcomes.

  • Manage regular, consistent communications of programme content and engagement opportunities using a variety of formats including Moodle (the online learning platform) and social media.

  • Work with the Head of Programmes and the Project Managers to develop materials to support the implementation of coaching approaches that reflect priority areas for spread and adoption and to co-ordinate education and coaching initiatives aligned with Innovation Agency initiatives.

  • To support and contribute to activities of governance groups relevant to post holders work.

  • To provide expert resource to the Coaching Academy, maintaining a high level of current, evidence based knowledge relevant to the post holder’s area of work.
