Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to join our Emergency Department Team here at Whiston Hospital.
If you have a caring and compassionate approach, and want to join a motivated, friendly and supportive team, we are keen to hear from you! We require staff who have a genuine interest in help caring for acutely unwell patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Successful applicants will be supported through a supernumerary period and will become proficient in providing basic care as well as other day to day responsibilities.
Due to current service demands, we are only able to consider applicants who have relevant UK experience. Candidates must also be available to commence employment immediately or within a very short timeframe. We regret that we cannot progress applications that do not meet these essential requirements.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Health Care Support Worker (SHCSW) will:
1. Work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Trust's vision and valuesproviding safe, high quality, compassionate, person centred care. 2. Support/supervise learners, new staff and junior staff where required.3. Record patient information in accordance with local and trust policies.4. Undertake personal care duties for patients within the care setting accessing supervision from a registered healthcare practitioner.

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
