Act as the Administrative Lead for the Radiology Department, and the main Department contact in the specialised area of Radiology Waiting Times, Performance Management and Statistics.To plan, manage, co-ordinate and deliver an effect administrative and clerical service within the Radiology DepartmentTo work with the Radiology Managers and Consultant Radiologists of all modalities to ensure the overall effective use of resources and continuous improvements in service deliveryTo support the service improvement agenda within the radiology DepartmentTo support the Trust's corporate objectives and the processes by which they are achieved, including Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Capacity Planning.To manage and maintain records regarding Consultant Radiologists Annual Leave, Study Leave and Mandatory Training.To maintain an overview of Consultant Radiologist, Sonographer and Radiographer rotas, using this information to optimise and manage the Departmental room diaries for all Modalities.
To produce, monitor, review and analyse Radiology Waiting Times to ensure Trust targets are achieved.To develop and produce management information as required. For example capacity and demand, DNAs and cancelled appointments, appointment utilisation.

To manage Radiology Waiting Times targets, Cancer Services and 18 Week Radiology Escalations and ensure that the appropriate targets are met through appropriate implementation of the Trusts Access Policy. To work in conjunction with the Modality Managers/Leads in the management of targets by ensuring effective capacity management and take remedial actions if/when capacity issues are identified. To liaise with Consultant Radiologists as required to ensure that urgent reports are available as and when required by our referrers. To ensure implementation and compliance with Trust Policies across areas of responsibility within the department. Possess the ability to manage, prioritise and organise competing demands and work to deadlines, escalating any variances and provide action plans as necessary.Management of Radiology Information To develop and use CRIS statistics on a daily basis to proactively plan towards the achievement of Departmental targets. This includes analysing complex statistical information from a range if sources, for example comparing Radiologist, Sonographer and Radiographer availability against current waiters and their length of wait. This information is then fed back to the Modality Managers and Radiology Manager regarding requirements for additional sessions, etc. These activities are carried out for all Radiology Modalities. Ensure daily data is collected on the number of empty appointment slots to feed into departmental records of capacity and demand. This information is also used proactively to plan ahead and cut down of under-utilised sessions. Produce the Radiology Weekly Waiting Times Report for distribution to the senior management team. Identify any anomalies from the statistics, investigate, and put remedial actions into place to stop/reduce departmental waiting times breaches. To develop new statistics, reports, databases or files, or update existing ones when required. In depth knowledge of a range of software packages and applications is required, together with specialist knowledge of Radiology policies, procedures and working methods. Ensure up to date CRIS statistics are kept for trends on Radiology Activity, Demand, Waiting Times, Reporting Times, DNAs and Cancelled Appointments. Develop and use CRIS statistics to address housekeeping and data quality issues on a regular basis.
