Job Summary- To work in the Recovery area within theatres providing and maintaining a high standard of care, ensuring the safe recovery for patients following anaesthetic and surgical intervention.

Main duties of the job
- To work within a team, nurses/operating department practitioners to achieve the safe recovery of patients post anaesthesia/ surgical intervention.
- To work through the recovery competency framework and keep up to date with all essential/ mandatory training and complete rotations through all areas of recovery.
- To establish excellent working relationships with all service users and actively encourage and promote joint working in the pursuit of continuous service improvement.
- To be a role model and mentor to new learners, staff, student nurses and student operating department practitioners. Maintain 5-star patient care and adhere to trust 'ACE' behavioural standards
- To work on behalf of the recovery team leads to co-ordinate the recovery area, to supervise delegation and review performance.

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
