Job summary
The post holder may be involved in all aspects of indirect patient care under direct supervision of the team leader. Also ensuring the tidiness and appearance of the operating theatre department at Whiston Hospital is maintained to high standard and safe working practices which is conducive for the patient

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team undertaking household support tasks
To accept responsibility for specifically delegated functions within theatres which the Team Leader feels are appropriate for untrained staff to undertake.
To ensure the health and Safety of patients and staff are considered at all times
To ensure that privacy and confidentiality of patients is paramount and is not compromised.
To be aware and assist with maintaining stock levels in theatres for clinical and non-clinical items,
Ensure that theatre supplies are appropriately stored and that stocks are at the levels set by the materials management tea
All stock is to be checked against delivery note and put away when brought from logistics on a weekly/daily basis and ensure correct correspondence with purchase invoices and report any discrepancies
To ensure stock is rotated according to their expiry dates. To ensure the theatre department including non-clinical areas are clean and tidy at all times To maintain staff changing room To ensure the scrubs holding area is clean and tidy at all times.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
