An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our well-established Pre-Operative Nursing team at Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals Trust.
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of the Lead Pre-Operative Nurse Practitioner to provide leadership, management and support to the Pre-operative nursing team . The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective pre-operative assessment service, ensuring that it is evidence based, patient centred and of a high standard.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will have the responsibility for the development, implementation and co-ordination of pre operative assessment across the trust.
Act as an autonomous practitioner with referring authority.
Lead, manage and develop a team of pre operative practitioners in delivering a quality efficient service.
The pre-assessment team work on both sites of the Trust, consisting of trained practitioners, health care assistants and clerical staff. The team is small, friendly and supportive. and they pride themselves on delivering the best possible care to the patients in the community.

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
