Job summary
This post is for a Resident Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine. This is a part-time (32 hours per week), 9 month fixed term post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Applicants should have at least 12 months experience at F2 or equivalent level with 6 months of this in emergency medicine. It is desirable that applicants have ALS.
Applicants must be eligible for full Registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will undertake assessment of patients attending the AED department making decisions on treatment, ensuring thattimely treatment plans for patients are actioned, and that referrals to the appropriate specialty where an admission is required are completed.
You will work as part of a multi disciplimary team, liaising with other departments in the hospital as the patient's condition dictates. There will also be co-operation (as required) with outside agencies, particularly relationships with the Police and child protection agencies.
You will have access to and be expected to participate in departmental teaching.
