Ward 11B is a 23 bedded Gastroenterology ward inclusive of General Medical and a newly refurbished Procedure room. Teamwork and person-centred care are at the forefront of our working day.

Main duties of the job
- To demonstrate up to date knowledge of national and local professional issues and to lead/facilitate the implementation at a local level.
- To undertake any other duties, required by the Line Manager appropriate to the grade and relevant to the post.
- To promote collaborative working partnership and effective communication between all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Promote health and wellness through practice and education of patients, relatives, carers and staff.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. To provide and participate in the functions required to fulfil the goals and services by the ward/ department.4. To assist in the setting and monitoring of standards of nursing care within the ward/ department.5. To encourage the participation and involvement of the patient and carer(s) in the assessment, management and evaluation of care.6. To liase with all relevant disciplines involved with direct care and initiate health promotion and education.7. To work alongside multidisciplinary team in coordinating patient care and rehabilitation.
8. To participate in quality improvements and audits on the ward.
