An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated and friendly team at St Helens Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC).
The post holder will work autonomously as a senior nurse within the UTC team, seeing patients of all ages with undifferentiated and undiagnosed health problems; triage, taking comprehensive histories, undertaking clinical examinations, diagnosing, planning & implementing care, prescribing medication and making referrals where appropriate. You will be the shift co-coordinator responsible for the day to day running of the UTC including supervising and supporting junior staff.

The Urgent Treatment Centre is located in the heart of St Helens and sees around 65,000 patients annually and has onsite x-ray. We work closely with both primary and secondary care to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is currently the only acute Trust in Cheshire and Merseyside, and is one of few in the entire country, to achieve the title of OUTSTANDING, rated by the Care Quality Commission.
As part of the MWL family, community services and acute teams work together to deliver outstanding care to the local population of approximately 360,000 people across St Helens, Knowsley, Halton and Liverpool and also neighbouring areas such as Warrington, Ormskirk and Wigan. The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.
From 1st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Trust delivers acute hospital care, intermediate care, community, and primary care services to a population of over 600,000 people with a combined workforce of around 9000 dedicated and skilled staff from 17 locations including Whiston, Southport & Formby, St Helens, Ormskirk and Newton hospitals.
The Trust provides regional services for burns, plastic surgery and spinal injuries to more than 4 million people across Mersey and West Lancashire, Cheshire, the Isle of Man and North Wales.
