Main duties of the job

Applicants should have demonstrable experience in the planning and delivery of clinical based education, as well as providing pre-registration learners with pastoral support.

Applicants will need excellent organisational skills, be self-motivated and be a committed team player. They should also have excellent communication and decision-making skills and work well under pressure.

The successful candidate will hold an appropriate professional qualification and have educational experience. Previous experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of education would be an advantage.

  • Raise the profile of the pre-registration non-medical education programmes / pathways, across the trust
  • Act as a role model for best practice in support of pre-registration non-medical learners.
  • Engage with the organisation's PEF Team to continue the ongoingdevelopment of pre-registration education internally and across region as appropriate.
  • Feedback to organisation's PEF team when improvement and education is required in specific areas or where pre-registration non-medical learners require additional support.
  • Share knowledge and skills with others to help them develop their thinking and practice.
  • Supporting the induction of pre-registration non-medical learners.
  • Develop the quality of the learning environment for pre-registration non-medical learners, determining interventions necessary to support those learners to meet the required learning outcomes.
  • Support clinical staff supporting pre-registration non-medical learners to devise and implement action plans related to individual learners within agreed deadlines for assessment.
  • Support the preparation of clinical staff to educate and assess pre-registration non-medical learners in accordance with regulatory body standards (NMC / HCPC)

  • Support the development, implementation and review of education inpractice learning environments for pre-registration non-medical learners.
  • Act as an expert resource/ Champion of Learning in practice, supporting clinical staff to ensure the delivery of a high-quality learning experience.
  • Monitor student experience via electronic evaluations and escalateconcerns/trends to the PEF Team, Education Links, Ward Managers and HEI Practice Links.
  • Liaise with other workforce streams in the Clinical Education department to ensure all learners are supported and those who need additional support are identified and actioned.
  • Ensure communication channels are used appropriately to facilitate the flow of information between internal and external partners.
