You will need to have significant post registration experience and a sound clinical background as well as a valid NMC registration. We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and self-motivated Staff Nurse with a 'can do' mindset and a strong interest in patient flow and the need to ensure patients are not admitted to hospital when there are other options for their treatment.

The post holder should have up to date knowledge of current issues in patient flow and changes within the NHS. The role is challenging and instrumental to the day to day operations within the Trust.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate, with the checking of both the Children's and Adults' Barred Lists is required for this post.
The interviews will be competency based, and candidates may be required to complete a presentation as part of this interview process.

Our 52 bedded AMU comprises of 1C which has 4 enhanced care beds and 1B SDEC Unit which consists of 8 cubicles, 6 trollies, 6 treatment chairs and an ambulatory care room. Ambulatory care is expanding and we require nurses, who want to work in this fast pace setting to see, treat and discharge patients rather than admitting to the bed base.

Take appropriate action to address any issues or risk.
Promote a patient focused multi-disciplinary approach to care in collaboration with carers, health care professionals and other AHPs.
Ensure a safe and timely discharge / transfer of patients.
Ensure that treatment prescribed by the medical team is carried out and that changes in patient condition are escalated as appropriate.
Assist in ensuring there is timely and appropriate patient flows within the unit.
Act as advocate for the patient, respecting dignity, wishes and beliefs.
