Job summary

The post is part of an established Shared Care Record Team delivering a range of technical and change management projects to support the delivery of IM&T modernisation across the Halton, St Helens, and Knowsley health community.

The successful candidate will lead on managing specified large scale, complex projects across Halton, St Helens, and Knowsley, deriving maximum benefit for patients and staff through process redesign and service transformation based on consistent, effective, and innovative use of information technology. This post will lead on ensuring that the interests of the users are represented in developing and deploying these projects.

You will be required to plan, support, facilitate and monitor progress of designated projects and programmes, and report progress and exceptions to the Assistant Director of Informatics (Portfolio) and respective project boards.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the management and delivery of the St Helens Cares Shared Care outcomes and objectives and to deliver the implementation of the Knowsley Shared Care Record.

  • Develop policy and standards in support of the Shared Care Record strategy.
  • To be responsible for the development and implementation of the Shared Care Record solution
  • Ensure an appropriate governance / service framework is in place and fully embedded within the Shared Care Record team
  • Assist in the development of the wider St Helens Cares' IT strategy
  • Work collaboratively within the Cheshire & Merseyside STP in support of an integrated Care Record as this matures
  • Lead on the engagement across the St Helens Borough to aid high levels of system usage by all parties e.g. GP's, Social Workers, hospital staff, community staff, etc.
  • Managing support of the CIPHA system in line with the SLA, and act as the Trusted Authority and Single Point of Contact for C & M National Immunisation System access requests.

  • Provide leadership, project and programme management and serve as key liaison between system suppliers, users, managers, IM&T Department, project managers and other key stakeholders.
  • To organise and ensure project governance structures set up and maintained, to seek direction from and provide advice and guidance to the programme/ project board where necessary.
  • Communicate with senior managers and project stakeholders, to provide feedback, risk analysis, project status and details of emerging risks and issues that may impact strategic direction.
  • Ensure that all projects are undertaken using NHS and Trust standards, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and Prince 2 Project Management methodology.
  • Maintain high standards of project management to ensure delivery of the project, on time, to cost and agreed quality.
  • To plan and manage the delivery of range of multifaceted IM&T programmes and complex projects in a busy and sometimes conflicting environment.
