Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work strategically across the Cheshire and Merseyside region to support the AHP Faculty Lead to project manage a portfolio of workforce projects as part of the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. Current projects are focussed on Early careers/Preceptorship; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; Return to Practice; Apprenticeships; AHP support workforce.
The C&M AHP Faculty is the operational aim of the C&M AHP Council. The Faculty membership consists of a small project team and a blend of stakeholders from health, social care, Higher Education Institutions, primary care and private, independent and voluntary organisations volunteers. Its purpose is to support and deliver a collective approach to workforce initiatives by increasing placement capacity, supporting continuing professional development (CPD), developing Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) roles, building partnerships with education providers and addressing other local training and education priorities. The aim is to develop sustainable innovative approaches to recruitment and retention in order to provide high quality care, as well as offer training and development opportunities to support staff to realise their potential.
Main duties of the job
The post will initially be for a 6 month period on a secondment/fixed term contract basis, and would be open to application from anyone who is interested in supporting and gaining experience of working strategically across multiple organisations. The successful candidate will have a valid DBS check with the Trust and will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS disclosure which is £44 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from their first salary.

KEY DUTIES
Manage a large, complex project from initiation to delivery to include:
- To use advanced problem solving skills, business skills, solid verbal and written communication skills, excellent relationship building skills, as well as strong leadership and team management skills to manage the project.
- To produce fully costed option appraisals.
- To undertake detailed project planning, developing and utilising a robust project plan that will incorporate multiple smaller project streams.
- To implement and monitor agreed plans to ensure they are delivered within time, costs and the quality specified.
- To identify, record and resolve project risks and issues, manage scope and budget, oversee design, development, and deployment activities.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive progress reports to achieve full project visibility.
- To facilitate change management and issue resolution.
- To manage each identified stage of each project ensuring all relevant milestones are attained and where necessary escalate deviations to the AHP Faculty Chair. When necessary to recommend and initiate remedial action to ensure the project remains on schedule, in budget and to quality specification.
- To identify, recruit and liaise with key members of each organisation to ensure effective clinical engagement with the project.
- Communicate the project, where appropriate to all levels of the healthcare community utilising excellent communication organisational and presentational skills
- To negotiate, influence and resolve issues with key internal and external stakeholders, involving senior level negotiation, and/or third party suppliers, where appropriate, to obtain high level commitment to the project
- To liaise with senior management, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, external agencies and everyone contributing to the project.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams
