Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered nurse with excellent leadership skills to join the M2 Orthopaedic team as Deputy Ward Manager.
Ward M2 Ortho is currently a 2o bedded ring fenced elective Orthopaedic ward providing care for Orthopaedic patients across the North West . The team is a small but effective team that requires strong visible leadership. We need a positive and motivated individual to help support and guide the team to maintain high quality patient care.
The successful candidate will be supported to further develop their leadership and management skills. They will be expected to work their hours over 4 days with some weekend and night shifts if the service requires it.
Main duties of the job
M2 Orthopaedic is a busy and demanding Orthopaedic ward.
This role needs someone who can contribute to a positive team culture and drive forward quality improvement. They must be forward-thinking individual who can assist in managing, leading and supporting the ward team and wider division to deliver high standards of patient care.
A Deputy Ward Manager on M2 Ortho will need at least 2 years nursing experience. Orthopaedic experience is desirable but not essential. You must be motivated, resilient, calm under pressure and be able to deliver a range of clinical skills.
A significant part of this role will be working as the ward coordinator, and this will require having knowledge about the acuity and demands of all aspects of the ward. You will need to liaise with various members of the multidisciplinary team in order to support the team to deliver effective patient care. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
You will also be expected to participate in ward audits, staff development, attendance management and promoting staff wellbeing.
During quieter periods staff are expected to support our colleagues in APH to ensure patient care is maintained, a professional approach to this is essential.
