We have a maternity leave cover position available with an exciting opportunity to join our Neurology Service. Supporting patients in the acute Trust including Stroke Assessment Unit, Clatterbridge Rehabilitation Centre, Early Supported Discharge Service and Neuro Outpatient Services.
This post will give opportunity to gain experience in Neurology and to work as required in across the acute and rehabilitation services.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with clinical experience in neurology to come and join our team.
Main duties of the job
We have a very active therapy service at WUTH and there are many opportunities for people looking to enhance their clinical knowledge and experience within neurology.
There are opportunities to engage in training and development, innovative practice and service development.
You will have professional support for your CPD from Band 7 Therapy Team Leaders and support from Senior Occupational Therapists from other specialities as required.

- Basic computer skills, including use of an electronic patient record system
- Good written and oral communication skills

- Understanding of national issues and relating them to own clinical practice
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential
- Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC
- HCPC registration
- Active collection of relevant CPD in portfolio
- Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist
- Previous care experience
- Core Rotations as an Occupational Therapist in a range of core areas: o Orthopaedics o Medical or Frailty Inpatients o Neurological Rehabilitation
- Experience working as part of multidisciplinary team

- Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapists or similar
- High level of clinical reasoning with excellent theoretical knowledge underpinning practice
- Demonstrate a good awareness of needs of patient and appropriate action to take
- Demonstrate awareness of the roles of others in providing patient care and ability to work as an effective team member
- Experience supervising junior, students, apprentices or non-registered staff
