Job summary

To be part of a team of Chaplains developing and providing a range of spiritual and pastoral services for the Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust. All Chaplains are required to be able to care for others who may have a different philosophy, belief and value system.

The role includes participating in a 24 hour, on-call rota. This will include working weekends & bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering care to patients, carers, visitors and staff, including being available to be advocates for patients, carers, visitors and staff working in-conjunction with relevant bodies.

Participate in education and training programs as delegated by the Head of Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care.

Essential

  • Recognised (Ordained/ licensed) and in current good standing with Faith Community
  • Ability to administer religious rituals and rites (inc. communion and baptism) as authorised by faith community in an appropriate way at the bedside and in Sacred Space.
  • Educated to degree level - or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel for out-of-hours calls

Desirable

  • Previous Chaplaincy experience
  • Counselling course/ advanced communication skills
  • Teaching and mentorship course
  • Computer literate e.g. European Computer Driving Licence
