You should have experience of working under pressure, whilst ensuring accuracy and quality of your services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, and the ability to engage the team is a must. Main duties of the job
As a Senior Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Procurement and Homecare, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy procurement and distribution teams and provide management cover when necessary for the medicines Homecare Service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Co-ordinating daily pharmacy procurement and distribution operations - including ensuring medicines required for the trust and external customers are ordered, receipted, invoiced and distributed appropriately.
- Supporting the Pharmacy Operations Support Services Manager with the strategic direction of the pharmacy procurement and distribution service.
- Deputising for the Pharmacy Operations Support Services Manager, in their absence, at internal pharmacy meetings or Trust meetings.
- Leading staff within the team on a daily basis, including ongoing development needs and performance review and dealing with HR-related processes, such as sickness absence.
- Supervising and providing training and mentorship to all current and new staff involved in medicines procurement processes.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with an extensive knowledge of medicines procurement and distribution regulations are essential.
