Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Medicine)

Job summary

As part of plans to expand their Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) workforce, the Medicine Division have secured funding for two places on the University of Chester's Autumn 2025 Advanced Clinical Practice MSc (apprenticeship).

The successful candidates will be appointed at B6 or B7 depending on current level of experience and will progress to a substantive 8A role following successful completion of the training programme. Successful candidates will rotate across a range of wards / specialties within the Medical Division during their training programme before being embedded in a ward / specialty team on completion.

Our ANPs are highly valued and are well supported by the medical and senior nursing team and there will be opportunities for gaining skills and further development within the role.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will work alongside the ward based medical doctors, undertaken duties appropriate to their level of experience and competence, with the ultimate aim of creating highly skilled autonomous ANPs to promote high quality care, experience, outcomes and safe and effective discharge. Candidates will be given protected time to fulfill the educational aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a fast paced Acute Trust and want new challenges and to become part of an exciting and innovative multidisciplinary workforce.
