Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity within Therapy Services at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for a Clinical Allied Health Professional Educator.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic thinker and problem solver. The post holder will be an integral part of the Therapy Services Directorate working with all clinical therapy teams and professions (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech & Language Therapy and Orthotics). They will be expected to work closely with Clinical Leads, Therapy Management Team, WUTH Practice Education Facilitator Teams to plan, deliver, support and evaluate a range of educational initiatives across the organisation.
The role will work with local education providers of AHP courses to enhance our provision for student education and career pathways.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to quality assurance processes and to write reports for relevant trust groups. They will be expected to establish and maintain their own clinical credibility and be expected to act as a role model and provide direct support to clinical team members as needed.
Main duties of the job
- To be a lead for Allied Health Professional (AHP) education for the Therapy Services.
- To work autonomously without supervision for the long term planning, and management of in-house training and development for all Therapy Service staff.
- Responsible for training and the development needs of all Therapy Service staff.
- The Clinical AHP Educator is able to practice without supervision as per the AHP profession they are registered in within Therapy Services, as service needs require, at any time.
- To manage these needs within the scope of professional practice.
- To work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure learning needs are met, providing high quality care.
- To liaise with other institutions at local, regional and national levels to achieve the goal values of the trust
- Practices without supervision and is accountable for own professional outcomes, and is legally responsible, and accountable for own actions.
