An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and driven registered nurse to join our Substance Misuse Team as Clinical Nurse Specialist (Team Leader). The successful candidate will have significant experience in this field and is passionate about providing the highest standard of care to patients living with substance misuse.
Main duties of the job
Acts clinical expert within a specialised field as a role model demonstrating high standards of quality care and providing clinical leadership to others.As clinical expert lead the development of clinical nursing services with the field implementing National Substance Misuse management and prevention Initiatives at a local level contributing towards strategic decision making, and implementing policies appropriate to the speciality.Provide expert clinical advice and education to patients promoting a culture that supports self-management and health and wellbeing.Acting as key worker the CNS will use and apply advanced technical knowledge of substance misuse and treatment within the speciality to oversee and co-ordinate services, personalise the pathway of care for individual patients to ensure the complex information and support needs of patients and families are addressed.Delivers specialist education and training to other professionals involved in patient care.The CNS will be responsible for the management, supervision and development of the Substance Misuse Team. The CNS will be a professional role model, advancing evidence based clinical practice in the area of substance misuse and dependency. The CNS will work closely with the wider MDT, to promote and implement the WUTH evidence-based substance misuse policies/guidelines, acting as a resource for colleagues involved in the management and prevention of the physical and psychosocial adverse consequences of substance misuse.
