Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacist to play a significant role in medicines safety until the permanent postholder returns from maternity leave. This is a great fixed-term or secondment opportunity to broaden your skill set or try out a new focus. We are seeking a motivated pharmacist with a passion for patient safety and an inquiring mind to join the team and help make our hospital the safest place to take medicines.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with pharmacy, nursing and medical teams you will support the medicines governance workstreams and provide a clinical pharmacy service to a specific clinical area.

With the guidance of our experienced Lead Safety Pharmacist, you will review medicines incidents and support investigations to ensure that contributory factors are understood and that learning is shared to improve systems and processes. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement a range of medication safety initiatives, expanding your experience with service improvement. This will include the development and delivery of educational resources.

As a medicines safety champion you will promote the medicines safety agenda within the organisation and inspire others to embrace improvement.
