Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for part time Clinic Clerk within the Women's Services admin and clerical department as support to the Obstetric, Gynaecology and GAU areas.
To work as part of a team under the supervision of the Team Leader providing clerical and reception support in the out-patient department, sending out appointments to patients and maintaining appropriate records.
The successful candidate will be based at Arrowe park Hospital
*Please note A&C work on a rota and the successful candidate will be required to work some shifts until 8pm*
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a self motivated and enthusiastic person to take on a challenging and sometimes pressurised role.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
o Under the supervision of the senior clinic clerk/team leader:o Arrange the booking, reception and follow up of out-patients for any clinician in accordance with agreed requirements.o Complete all required documentation and computer records.o Send out correspondence and deals with all relevant enquiries form patients relatives, GPs etc... before, during and after clinic appointments.o Deal with any difficulties relating to the clinic, referring to a higher level if required, and makes suggestions for improvement.o Receive and acknowledge incoming referral letters as appropriate.o Refer letters to Consultant/clinician for further advice as required.o Book and advise patients of appointments using the Trust's partial/fully booking protocols.o Ensure clinics are booked to full capacity as per the agreed Consultant/clinician's template.o Make suggestions as to any modification to ensure smooth running of clinic based on demand.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a standard DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.
As this vacancy is within the division of Womens and Childrens, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £16 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust.
