Job summary
This post is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified clinician to join our expanding Acute Medicine Service at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will provide senior clinical input to the 27 inpatient medical beds on the Trust's Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Urgent Medical Assessment Centre (UMAC) and will support post-take review of medical patients within the Emergency Department.
You will join an existing team of 7 substantive Acute Medicine Consultants, and the wider multi-disciplinary team at Arrowe Park Hospital.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Department's research agenda, and will also participate in the further development of Same Day Emergency Care service and how this is further integrated with our partners.
Applicants must be fully registered on the UK General Medical Council's Specialist Register or within 6 months of an anticipated CCT/CESR date.
Main duties of the job
The principal duty of this post are;
1. To comply at all times with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice' as amended or substituted from time to time.
2. To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
3. To undertake the duties defined within the attached recruitment pack.
4. To be accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources in the delivery of your duties, and to be professionally professionally accountable to the Medical Director.
5. On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trust's corporate Induction.
6. To participate in the Trust's Statutory & Mandatory training programme.
7. To be responsible for the clinical management of all patients under your care.
8. To work flexibly with colleagues to meet the needs of the service and achieve Trust and national targets.
