Job summary
To work as part of a team under the supervision of the Team Leader providing clerical and reception support in the Orthotics department, sending out appointments to patients and maintaining appropriate records.
To assist with the supply of Orthopaedic, Fracture & general Orthoses.
Main duties of the job
- To prepare clinics in advance, including all required Orthoses and patient notes, take deliveries and keep electronic records of Orthoses.
- To maintain electronic records as required within the guidelines of hospital policy for the issue of Orthoses.
- Take delivery of orthoses, making an electronic note of their arrival. Receive and check deliveries to the department, maintain knowledge of stock required.
- Notify patients of the arrival of their orthosis and arrange collection.
- Issue repaired / repeat Orthoses and electronically record patient collection.
- Complete appliance clinic requirements ie: filing, daily record keeping.
- Assist in the ordering of orthoses as required / as necessary
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the Orthotic service
- To work across site as required to meet the needs of the Orthotics department
