Job summary

We are looking to recruit a clinical support worker to join our established nursing team. We are looking for Clinical Support Workers who are motivated and want to make a difference to patient outcomes and wish to join our welcoming team.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity of working in two distinct ward environments allowing them to develop their skills in elective and trauma orthopaedics.

Ward 12 is a 13 bedded, ring-fenced, elective orthopaedic unit which specialises in providing care for patients undergoing complex total hip and total knee replacements, along with other upper and lower limb surgery.

WAFFU (Wirral Acute Femoral Fracture Unit) is an 8 bedded unit, which aims to optimise the care of our acute femoral fracture patients during their preoperative and early postoperative phase. Ensuring The National Hip Fracture Database Gold standards are met for all of our patients. The WAFFU team will be responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best standards of care from acute admission liaising closely with the Emergency Department.

Main duties of the job

To assist Registered Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in implementing patients' care plan. Also undertake some clerical and domestic duties to ensure a safe environment.
