Job summary
Applications are invited for this six month Fixed Term post to support the Breast Team at Wirral.
We serve a population of 354 000 on the Wirral peninsula and also see referrals from Wales, South Cheshire and Liverpool. We diagnose on average 400 new cases of breast cancer annually providing a comprehensive fast-track diagnostic to theatre service. Our unit also receives referrals from the Wirral and Chester Breast Screening Service.
Oncoplastic breast conserving techniques are used routinely and we offer immediate and delayed reconstruction with ADM meshes and implants. Pedicle flap techniques are also offered in house and we work closely with regional Plastic Surgical Units for those patients requiring free flaps.
The post will consist of 10 programmed activities and will include New and Follow up clinics, operating sessions (joint and independent), MDT, SPA and Admin.
There is no General Surgery On Call commitment.

- Excellent practical skills in the full range of breast clinical problems
