Job summary
We are looking for someone with vision, insight, desire, and versatility to be able to lead the WUTH Pharmacy Aseptic Service to meet the changing needs of our customers whilst maintaining the standards required to retain our MHRA Specials License.
The Aseptic Service is a key enabler for the Trust, manufacturing CIVAS, chemotherapy, TPN and other specialist products including clinical trials for use across the hospitals. The post holder will lead work to plan, design and gaining funding for a new Aseptic Services Unit. We are keen to grow our business to meet unmet need across the health economy and the post holder will be involved in aseptic work across the Cheshire and Mersey ICS and nationally where appropriate.
The successful candidate needs to be passionate about aseptic services and must be able to inspire and give direction to an enthusiastic and experienced team of pharmacists, technicians and support workers working within the unit.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence multi-professional teams will be essential. The post is ideally suited to someone who can lead well-managed change across traditional professional boundaries and wants to further their experience at a senior level in a progressive environment. Applicants should be GPhC registered pharmacists with experience of running an MHRA Licenced Aseptic Unit. Previous team management experience and knowledge of GMP, GCP and QA standards is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for Pharmacy Aseptic Services at WUTH. They will also be a member of the Pharmacy Senior Management Team and have the opportunity to develop and lead on a range of initiatives and business opportunities that support the strategic direction for WUTH Pharmacy Services.

- Vocational Master Degree in Pharmacy plus 1 year pre-registration experience
- Postgraduate Pharmacy qualification or equivalent vocational experience
- Management or leadership qualification or equivalent relevant experiential learning within the NHS. Range of topics included in training including attendance, performance capability, disciplinary and financial management
- PTQA or other aseptic qualification or equivalent advanced experiential learning
