Job summary

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a background or interest in delivering clinical systems training via a variety of methods.

You will plan, manage, deliver, and maintain clinical systems training through the creation of quick reference guides, training videos and digital training / support packages.

You will ensure that the EPR Training Team's library of digital support materials is up to date and easily accessible to clinical system end users.

You will provide training, guidance, and support to clinical system end users.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop, create and maintain a variety of training support materials and digital resources in relation to the use of the Trust's clinical systems.
  • Continually update knowledge and understanding of the functionality of the Trust's clinical systems and the Trust's business processes relevant to the systems.
  • Maintain a high quality of delivery through an ongoing process of eliciting feedback and evaluation, and adapting training methodology, plans and personal style where necessary.

Job description

Job responsibilities

This role will take on responsibility for learning new technologies, applications, and systems across the Trust and wider health economy when appropriate designing and delivering the resultant training courses, to meet the needs of all users.

They will also play a fundamental role in evaluating training to enable healthcare professionals to effectively use hospital system software, office automation and on-line learning software.

The post holder will support the IT Training Lead and wider programme management to deliver the required number of training places per year for a wide variety of different specialties, systems, disciplines and which is suitable to meet the needs of all clinical and operational support staff.

This role will have a responsibility to support testing and evaluation of products / solutions prior to and post deployment to ensure training delivery is fit for purpose.

Responsible for escalating issues that are beyond the control of the post holder to the IT Training Lead, Advanced Clinical IT Systems Analyst or Principal Clinical Systems Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the preparation and delivery of high-quality training for all staff working in collaboration with other members of the training team, on both clinical and non-clinical systems.
  • Develop appropriate end user training and reference materials.
  • Prepare, document, and maintain all training materials and related documentation and electronic aids including training manuals, certificates, hand-outs, and promotional materials according to Trust and national standards.
  • Produce relevant training course evaluation activities, including training exercises and tests where required, to be used during training sessions enabling trainees to reproduce work-related tasks.
  • Present all courses and represent the department in a professional manner, ensuring all queries received are answered to the best ability and any outstanding points raised are followed up.
  • Motivate users who are reluctant to embrace new IT skills and use powers of persuasion to enhance the benefits new skills will bring. This will include a variety of staff including senior clinicians and managers.
  • Support systems testing using training scenarios on new releases of IT software.
  • Adopt a positive approach to change management and communicate key business process changes effectively as part of the training and go-live support provided.
  • Act as a system champion, super user, floorwalker working onsite with staff who have a wide range of PC literacy and systems experience.
  • Determine training needs by the application of known training needs analysis techniques.
  • Update e-learning content to agreed time, and performance measurements
  • Complete the necessary preparation of training facilities prior to delivery of training courses.
  • Any additional tasks as required by the IT Training lead.
