Job summary
The post holder will have technical, managerial and supervisory to subordinate staff and specialist contractors/ services.
Working within the relative specialties of Building, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering as an Authorised Person (AP). In conjunction with the Senior Estates Officers, the primary objective of this position is to ensure that planned preventative and reactive maintenance work, undertaken by in-house maintenance staff and specialist contractors is provided within pre-designated time spans at competitive cost and comply with all statutory regulations and legislation via the relevant Health Technical Memorandum (HTM). To minimise disruption to the running of hospital departments.
To manage and arrange shutdowns, connections and adaptations to specialised hospital services which facilitate progress on major capital schemes and minor schemes of a more complex work content. Carrying out estimates for works and working within defined budgets. To act as the authorised persons for specialist services.
The post holder will be responsible for promoting a Health and Safety culture within the Operations and Maintenance Division of Wirral Hospital Trust. Ensuring appropriate Ensuring appropriate permits to work, risk assessments and method statements are obtained/carried out by in house staff and contractors.
