Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the team.
The post holder will work within Estates but link closely with teams across the Trust to ensure a coordinated and systematic approach to security is maintained and effective support and guidance is provided to clinicians and managers in all aspects of security.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, skilled and experienced person to be a specialist resource within the Division using their knowledge and experience of security to manage the in house and contract security provision to support improving standards of care and clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage the in house security team and contract provision and act as a lead and central point of contact for Security activities.
Reporting to the Head of Estates, the Head of Security will be responsible for managing all aspects of physical security with 24/7 shift team to ensure the provision of a secure and safe environment for our patients, visitors and staff.
You will provide highly visible and authentic leadership to a large and multi-site team and continue to build the professionalism and skills of your team whilst looking to drive innovation and change.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of working on their own initiative and providing expert advice regarding all security matters.
This role would suit individuals with a track record in creating a culture of exceptional delivery and managing change.
Strong communication skills will be essential as the role includes extensive partnerships with our neighbours as well as external bodies including the Police, Council and other NHS Trusts.
We want someone who can support and develop a culture of informed questioning, challenge, trend analysis and triangulation, to ensure lessons are learned and shared and the Divisions change practice in a way which has a positive effect on patient outcomes, experience and safety.
