Are you passionate about developing the perioperative environment for the future? We are looking for a highly motivated healthcare professional to work as part of the perioperative education team with a focus on education for staff within perioperative medicine.
WUTH is currently expanding it theatre complex's. This expansion will include a new three stage recovery and POCU on our Clatterbridge site. As part of this we are looking for a Clinical Practice Educator for our post operative care units. The education and support for these expanding units will be an integral part of providing WUTH patients with the best possible care we strive for as a trust. Experience in recovery patient care as well as level 2 patient care is essential along with experience in education and development of staff groups.
Main duties of the job
The clinical practice educator will work as part of the Perioperative Education Team and Senior Theatre Management Team to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care across all clinical sites.
The successful candidate will support the continuing education, training and professional development of staff, including preceptorship and induction of newly appointed, staff promoting the acquisition of new skills and knowledge within the specialist area of post operative care (Initial recovery, Phase 2 recovery and discharge) . As well as the continued education of the varied professional learners within the department such and student ODP',s nurses, doctors and wider professions. Creating educational experiences and initiatives such as simulation to help to develop the department in order promote innovative and dynamic team working within perioperative medicine.
As a clinical educator the successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of appropriate protocols and standard procedures and undertake associate clinical audits as directed to ensure that all staff are able to acquire and adhere to the professional standards and competencies required in perioperative practice in order to promote a culture of safety.
