Job summary
This vacancy is for a Midwife Vaccinator to support a new initiative to offer the vaccine programme for pregnant women out in a community hub, alongside the current vaccination offer.
We are looking for an enthusiastic registered midwife to facilitate the maternity immunisation service out in the community, as well as 2 evenings per week in the antenatal clinic setting. The appointed candidate will posses exemplary communication skills to deliver this vital protection to our families during pregnancy.
The post holder will promote the programme to pregnant women to improve the uptake of vaccines in pregnancy in addition to running daily planned clinics and ad hoc to deliver flu, pertussis and RSV vaccines.
Our ideal candidate is confident with clinical records systems, skilled in discussing the benefits of vaccinations in pregnancy and efficient in delivering these in a fast paced environment
This role is not suitable for internationally educated Midwives without an active UK NMC pin.

Main duties of the job
To contribute to the delivery of a high-quality antenatal immunisation service to pregnant women in the community hub(s) to increase the uptake of influenza, pertussis, and RSV immunisations for pregnant women
To support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the antenatal immunisation programme delivery
To provide advice and information about immunisation(s) to educate staff, antenatal women and other stakeholders.
To take a woman-centred and public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities.
To maintain and update electronic records.

About us
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community.
