Job summary
We are seeking to appoint specialty doctors to work in the department of Acute Care Medicine to commence as soon as possible. The post holders will join our acute medicine team in developing and delivering acute medical service and improving patient centered care. The post holder will promote best practice in the management of emergency medical admissions and discharges and admission avoidance. The successful candidates will rotate between AMU/MSDEC and ward 29.
We are looking for candidates that may be interested to further study and obtain CESR in General Acute medicine.
The post is for 10 basic Programmed Activities +1 programmed activity on call as below
This will include on call duties for the acute team only. Shift pattern will consist of the following.
08:00 -16:0010:00 -18:001400 - 22:00
This will include one weekend in three.There will be NO GIM on call.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates must possess a basic medical qualification (ie MBBS or equivalent) and hold full registration with the GMC together with a Licence to Practice. At least four years of postgraduate training, two of which are in a relevant specialty. Relevant up to date experience and qualifications to undertake duties at middle grade level is essential. The ability to carry out a full range of Acute medicine practical procedures commensurate with register level is also required. Acute care safe: up-to-date ALS. Hospital at night team working/experience. Out-of-hours are all essential. A higher scientific or medical qualification is desirable.
