Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for Staff Nurse vacancies on within the Division of Medicine and Long Term Conditions.

You will be allocated a base ward. You will be required to support the Medical Winter Ward Team which will operational approximately between October and March each year.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our existing nursing teams. We are looking for confident, highly motivated, experienced nurses to work within the medical division and and assist in the delivery of compassionate care to our patients.

You will be required to demonstrate sound leadership skills, collaborative working, the ability to manage an established team and be enthusiastic in addressing service needs to meet strategic demands.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • MUST POSSESS 998/A1 QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT Or evidence/experience of teaching and assessing

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Must have post registration experience as a registered Staff Nurse
  • Or working towards you Registered Nurse Qualification

SKILLS

Essential

  • Ability to write clearly and legibly. Can Articulate well with good listening skills
  • Competent in Venepuncture and Cannulation, or willing to undertake the necessary training.
  • Competent in Male catheterisation, or willing to undertake the necessary training

KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of the role and responsibilities of the post, clinical and non-clinical
  • Awareness of cost effective use of resources
  • Must have a working knowledge relating to Health and Safety
  • Must have a working knowledge or their responsibilities in relation to clinical risk management
  • Must have an understanding of the need to assess the quality of service delivered and how this can be actioned
  • Can demonstrate an awareness of clinical audit or benchmarking processes
