Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Administrator Team Leader in the Safeguarding and Children in Care Team.

The role is based at Blakenall Village Centre but you will be required to provide support to the Safeguarding Teams - Children, Adults and Maternity and Children in Care Team at three sites, including staff based at Blakenall Village Centre, Walsall Town Wharf and Walsall Civic Centre in the Town Centre, therefore the ability to travel independently is essential.

The successful applicant should have experience of leading a team and possess exceptional motivational and organisational skills. The person will be proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook and Word and will be able to demonstrate the commitment and drive needed to continuously improve systems; processes and data quality.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be used to working to processes to complete tasks by deadlines.

You will have at least three years of administrative/secretarial experience and knowledge of a range of administration procedures. You must have, or be working towards, a Level 3 Business Administration qualification or equivalent, GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

Main duties of the job

This post will require the successful candidate to supervise administrative staff in the team and maintain an overview of the flow of work within the office, ensuring it is managed within agreed quality standards and timescales and work closely and provide support to the Business Support Manager.

The post holder will be required to undertake HR work, including conducting appraisals, organising staff rotas, and dealing with any day to day queries from the Administration Team, Named Nurses and Service Leads. In addition to supporting the line management of the team administrators, you will also be expected to, when required, to cover sickness and other absences and support the Safeguarding and Children in Care team in a variety of ways.
