4 Consultant Radiologists - Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust are looking to recruit 4 enthusiastic, motivated, skilled radiologists to join the team of 11 consultant radiologists, 3 consultant sonographers and 2 consultant reporting radiographers.

The successful candidates will be General Radiologist, interest in cross sectional imaging and ultrasound. Any other subspecialist interest would be considered.

An ability to undertake non vascular interventional procedures required in a busy DGH would be an advantage. Any subspecialist interest would be considered.

The radiology team support the acute on call Monday - Friday 0800-2000 hours and weekends/bank holidays 1000-1700 hours. On call CT is supported by a private partner currently Four Ways.

Main duties of the job

The Imaging department functions as an integrated service delivering high quality and responsive diagnostics to the acute pathways including cancer services, accident and emergency, out patients, maternity and paediatrics, adult medicine and surgical specialities as well as supporting community and primary care pathways. The Trust currently supports 2 speciality registrars on the Heath Education West Midlands Scheme. The Trust has recently commissioned a new GE PACS and home working is being rolled out. The radiology colleagues are seen as vital team members and core to the safe provision of clinical services.

  • Basic Medical Degree
  • Royal College Member/Fellow or equivalent
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via:- oCCT (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) oEuropean Community Rights or oCESR
