Speciality Doctor MC75 within the department of Care of Elderly.
We are seeking to recruit 3 enthusiastic and hardworking doctors to join our Geriatric Department as a Specialty Doctor at Walsall Manor Hospital.
The successful candidate will have;
- At least 2 years' experience post qualification;
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and up to date ALS certification;
- Recent general/elderly hospital experience at ST 3 level or equivalent (within the last 12 months) of at least 6 months duration is desirable;
- Previous elderly care medicine experience would be essential and knowledge of the NHS is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post will be contracted for 10 Programmed Activities per week.
You will work on the general/elderly Unit supporting our advanced nurse practitioners as well as the junior doctor team with other middle grade staff to provide first line of support for Specialty Trainees and Foundation Doctors and take the lead in the care of the seriously ill patients; see and treat all categories of patients in Frail/Elderly Care/Geriatric and General Internal Medicine.
The Trust specialty Doctor Post will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive General/Elderly environment; giving you wide ranging clinical exposure and training; you will also have the opportunity to gain additional experience in a specialty of your chosen field (frailty, orthogeriatric, Parkinson's disease, falls and tilt table, etc..)
