3 YEARS FIXED TERM SPECIALTY DOCTORS - ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY
With 3 months rotation in INTENSIVE CARE/PAEDIATRICS & ACUTE MEDICINE
Salary Scale: Salary MC75 - 01 £45,124 -MC75 £77,519 per annum depending on experience (For 10 Programmed Activities)
We are seeking to appoint 2 full time fixed term specialty doctors to work in the department of Emergency Medicine to commence as soon as possible. The appointable candidate will be working a 1 in 8 full shift on call rota. This a 3 year fixed term post.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates must possess a basic medical qualification (ie MBBS or equivalent) and hold full registration with the GMC together with a Licence to Practice. Relevant up to date experience and qualifications to undertake duties at middle grade level is essential. The ability to carry out a full range of Accident & Emergency practical procedures commensurate with register level is also required. ATLS/ALS/APLS are all essential. A higher scientific or medical qualification is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team that is currently working with the Trust to develop options for an Emergency Department Redevelopment. The organisation has begun scoping options and working with a team of Architects to provide options for a new Emergency Department with a new Majors, Minors and Resus included.
The applicant will have the opportunity to work within this team to provide solutions to new innovative ways of working for the department.

The hospital site was substantially redeveloped between 2007 and 2010 and has 550 acute beds. It also comprises of outpatient, diagnostic and treatment facilities for short stay cases whilst the upgraded older building provides emergency care.
Over the last 12 months more than £50m has been invested in healthcare services across the hospital's estate which includes two new, state-of-the-art MRI scanners, the creation of a new 22 bedded Intensive Care Unit and a new Obstetric Theatre and expansion of the Neonatal Unit
The Emergency Department comprises of 19 majors and minors' cubicles, including a designated quiet room. A fully equipped four trollied resuscitation area with near patient testing, ultrasound and facilitation for paediatric resuscitation patients is based within the main department.
