Job summary
To assist in ensuring the provision of a high quality and cost-effective Health Records Service.The Health Records Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and smooth efficient running of the specific functions including clinic preparation, scanning bureau, transportation of health records.To provide support to both staff and managers as required.
This role is a cross cover providing support and guidance in both health records library and scanning bureau and working with a colleague to ensure a professional service to the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the day to day supervision of specific functions, ensuring an efficient and effective service is provided to users.
- Ensure all agreed Health Records Standards and procedures are always adhered to.
- Ensuring all staff have a good understanding of a patient Digitised Record.
- Scanning/Prepping logs
- Ensuring a continuous level of staffing is available within own area
- To attend departmental meetings.
- To bring to the attention of the Deputy Health Records Manager any problems relating to the smooth running of the department.
- To provide or source cover for annual leave, sickness.
- To manage processes and systems in accordance with Health Records standards.
- Flexible to the needs of the Service to ensure smooth running of the department
- Actively participate in the duties of the department as required
- To ensure all shifts are covered appropriately
- Staff will be required to be flexible and rotate on similar roles within the Health Records Department.
- Staff are expected to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required by the service.
- This is an evolving role and therefore will be open to a significant amount of change depending on the priorities within the service.
