Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced secretary within the Haematology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual to join a busy and dynamic team to provide secretarial support to the growing Haematology Department and assist in the safe, smooth, efficient and effective running of the service.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work within the Haematology Department for the consultants and provide secretarial and admin support to include excellent audiotyping, good and polite telephone manner and use of Microsoft Word, PAS and other IT systems in the working environment. Teamwork is an important part of this service to maintain a successful workflow, completion of tasks and to meet and achieve goals.

Essential
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English at Grade C or above
- RSA stage III Word-processing or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Secretarial experience within the last 4 years in a Healthcare setting
- Experience of working with computer systems, to include Microsoft Office and PAS
- Experience of working with staff at all levels
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

- Evidence of secretarial skills including excellent audio typing and minute taking
- Evidence of effective communications skills both written and oral
- Evidence of ability to work without direct supervision within broad procedural guidelines
