Job summary

Are you an orthodontist looking to add variety in your working life?

We have a great opportunity for a specialist who wants to get involved in the management of patients with more complex orthodontic needs. This is an opportunity to increase your confidence in treating patients who require multidisciplinary care or who have additional medical needs or a learning disability.

  • To support the running of the orthodontic service through clinical governance activity and education of support staff.

Essential

  • Full GDC registration and on the GDC Specialist Register for Orthodontics
  • Postgraduate training in Orthodontics
  • Holds a qualification as an Orthodontic Specialist: MOrth
  • To have undertaken an MScD or DDS or equivalent

Experience & Knowledge

Desirable

  • Experience of multidisciplinary working
  • Evidence of ability to perform orthodontic procedures without immediate supervision
  • Ideally at least 12 years clinical experience in Orthodontics

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Good knowledge of and ability to use spoken and written English
  • Participation in continuing professional development (CPD) scheme and, where relevant, evidence of past participation

Desirable

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff
  • Good time management skills and ability to cope with and organise effectively own workload
  • Understanding clinical governance and the responsibilities it implies
  • Knowledge of the principles of and evidence of participation in clinical audit
