This Masters degree level apprenticeship is for early career professionals wanting to focus on the data and analytics elements of population health management.

The role will be based within the Dorset Intelligence & Insight Service (DiiS) team and will be hosted within Dorset County Hospital for the three years fixed term contract and will involve working with all partners within the Dorset Integrated Care System (ICS) including, but not limited to, Acute and Community hospitals and public health teams. DiiS is the service running population health analytics and business intelligence services for the Dorset ICS and Wessex Cancer Alliance (WCA).

The Senior Intelligence Analyst Apprentice will focus on analysing health and care data to enhance health and care data to improve public health outcomes, support policy making and enhance the efficiency of healthcare services. The role will involve working with large datasets, collaborating with ICS partners and understanding compliance with data sharing policies. You will have the opportunity to create dashboards and insights, using the latest tools for predictive data modelling and analysis and train clinicians and service providers on how to use them.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the development and evolution of our analytics and intelligence services, which are used to support the key functions and workstreams across the ICS. Stakeholders range from Urgent & Elective Care, Primary & Community care and Mental Health services as well as having opportunities to broaden into other areas across the health and care spectrum.

This role is a level 7 (Masters level) apprenticeship leading to a Health and Care Intelligence Specialist qualification. The apprenticeship standard provides further detail on this standard, including relevant knowledges, skills and behaviours: Health and care intelligence specialist / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Access to internal and external training and skills development will be provided within the role, including relevant study leave to undertake the formal study elements of the role, equating to 7.5 hours per week.   • GCSE Grade C/4 or Functional Skills level 2 in both English and Mathematics.
  • One of the following qualifications OR Equivalent analytical work experience (e.g. Band 6 or 7 data / senior analyst or similar role)
  • Level 4 or higher qualification in STEM or Social Sciences (e.g Psychology, Geography, Economics, Accounting) or a related field that includes substantial mathematical content.
  • Professional registration with FEDIP through the association of Healthcare Analysts (AphA) at Practitioner or Senior Level.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development that enhances theoretical and practical skills/knowledge.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Recent previous experience within a comparable role
  • Recent previous experience of working within a customer focused environment
  • Experience of working in an information analysis environment and in producing management information
