Job summary
We have a vacancy for a full time member of staff to join our team. The vacancy is for a 'Senior Pharmacy ATO-Distribution'. The department utilise Careflow MM (JAC) EPMA and stock control system to manage the inventory in the pharmacy department. You will be required to assist in the management of the procurement of homecare services and deal with suppliers and regional procurement colleagues to provide a robust and efficient service to patients and our external customers which we supply under our Wholesalers Dealers Authorisation (WDA(H)) from the MHRA .
Main duties of the job
To participate in the day to day provision of ward stock top up service.
To assist in the delivery of an efficient dispensing service to Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and other commissioned services.To work independently following standard operating procedures following competency assessment.To have shared responsibility for reducing waste and expenditure.To provide cover in the Pharmacy Stores in the absence of the store-person when necessary.To deliver medicines to wards and departments using a handheld PDA to record delivery information.To undertake general housekeeping to maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.To perform a variety of general pharmacy duties under the supervision of a pharmacist senior technician or assistant in the designated areas, which will include the pharmacy Aseptic suite, main dispensary, and ward areas.

The purpose-built Pharmacy provides a clinical pharmacy service to Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The dispensary benefits from a new BD robot installation and a Prescription Tracking System, and an Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration is in use throughout the majority of the hospital.
