Job summary
We have a really exciting opportunity for an experienced Radiographer who has a keen interest in education at DCH to support supporting the ongoing investment in our Radiographer workforce.
This is a HEE funded post fixed term for 15 months initially. The post holder will help us to develop this role to expand and support radiographer education at all levels at DCH in the future.
The post will have a focus on developing the education and training of our support workers, undergraduate and postgraduate learners and newly appointed international recruits working in collaboration with the Radiographer leads and practice education facilitators in the education team.

Main duties of the job
- To support the Education, Learning and Development function within the department and wider Trust.
- To take a strategic role in enhancing the capacity, capability and quality of the education for all AHP health care staff, in partnership with key stakeholders.

Job responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Universities, Trust staff and professional bodies to implement and contribute to achievement of the national education contract with Health Education England.
- Contribute to the development, organisation and governance of relevant clinical practice
- Work in collaboration with the practice educators responsible for support worker development and the widening participation co-ordinator to design and implement an AHP support worker programme inclusive of onward career development opportunities.
- Provide support to all AHP undergraduate students ensuring that the quality standards for all learning environments are met including appropriate supervision in practice.
- Contribute to the delivery and design of the preceptorship programme for all newly registered AHP staff and monitor its effectiveness.
- Support the development of International recruits
- Support managers in identifying the continuing development needs of their staff and developing their Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
- Work collaboratively with the workforce planning lead on the development of new roles aligned to workforce plans and future service requirements within AHP services (Advanced and Enhanced practice)
- Monitor and coordinate the allocation of funding against the training needs analysis for Radiography staff.
- Produce reports for the People and Culture Committee, Operational Education group and Health Education England to monitor educational activity for the organisation.

- Represent the Trust at national and regional Education, Learning and Development events.
- Network locally, regionally and nationally with peer groups to support the sharing of best practice.
