Job summary
- An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a 0.8 whole time equivalent (30 hours per week) band 7 within the Richmond MSK service. This is for an initial 10 month contract with potential for this to be extended.
- The MSK team consists of a varied team of band 5, band 6 and band 7 physiotherapists with an MSK interface service of 4 advanced physiotherapy practitioners.
- There is additional oversight from a consultant physiotherapist. Career development is prioritised through regular case discussions, supervisions and learning opportunities. The service also has a women's health service.
- Patient contact is primarily offered through face to face or class based offerings including including hydrotherapy and shockwave.
- You will be expected to supervise and teach staff, whilst also being involved in service improvement projects.
- Candidates must be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold a degree in physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
- To provide an expert and highly developed musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis and appropriate onward management of patients presenting with chronic and acute musculoskeletal problems to the service referred via their GP or other health professional.
- Deliver programmes of supported patient self-management, in ways that facilitate behavioural change, optimises individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfillment of personal goals and independence, and that minimise the need for pharmacological interventions
- Support the service manager with the operational running of the service.
- Support more junior staff with training, supervision and appraisal, whilst also be involved in service improvement projects.
