Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term full time MDT Coordinator, Band 5 within the Cancer Services Team for maternity cover until 31st August.The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the site-specific Cancer MDT Coordinators, to enable the Trust to deliver the new National Timed Diagnostics Pathways. This will involve validation of the key cancer returns (CWT & COSD, and helping to cover the different site specific MDT coordinator roles (tracking patients, supporting and attending MDT meetings and collecting data).
The role requires liaison with a number of departments as well as Primary Care Colleagues and other Trusts to ensure prompt patient appointments, tests and diagnostics are provided. The role will involve coordinating and recording the Cancer MDT meetings once a week and updating the tracker on a daily basis to ensure patients pathways are facilitated.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an exceptionally organised individual with a passion for cancer services, who is able to work proactively and independently to ensure targets are met. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain a variety of working relationships, are essential. Proficient computer skills are required as you will need to input and collate data across a number of computer systems. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be comfortable presenting and collating information from senior management and clinicians. Experience of working in a similar role in cancer services would be advantageous.
