Senior Occupational Therapist - Community
The closing date is 19 January 2026
Job summary
We want to help people stay where they belong - at home, in their community, living the life they choose. This is where you come in.
As an experienced Occupational Therapist, you'll join a friendly team of OTs within our Richmond Response and Rehabilitation Team (RRRT) - a dynamic, integrated health and social care service supporting adults, primarily older people, to remain safe, independent and well in their own homes. Because we deliver care directly in the community, you'll travel across the borough as part of your day-to-day work, visiting patients in their own environments and supporting them where it matters most.
You'll have the autonomy to manage your own caseload, while being fully supported by experienced colleagues who value shared learning and teamwork.
This is a role where you can grow, lead, innovate and help shape the future of community rehabilitation. If you're an Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step into a position where autonomy, creativity and tangible outcomes for patients, we'd love to hear from you!
Please note: We're unable to offer sponsorship, as funding for such is not available.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high-quality, holistic OT assessments and interventions in people's homes.
Use advanced clinical reasoning to support safe discharge, prevent hospital admission and maximise independence.
Work autonomously while being fully supported by experienced Band 7 OTs and a collaborative MDT.
Prescribe equipment, recommending adaptations and completing functional assessments that make a real difference.
Contribute to service development, supervising junior staff and supporting students.
Play an active role in our 7-day service, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
Community experience is desirable but not essential -- we'll support you to develop it.
About us
To deliver the best care, you need the best support -- and that's exactly what you'll find with us. Our culture is compassionate, inclusive, inspiring and collaborative, shaped by the people who use our services and the colleagues who deliver them. When you join RRRT, you'll have access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities, alongside health and wellbeing support to help you thrive.
As a service at the forefront of integrated community care, we're constantly evolving, and you'll play an active role in shaping pathways, improving practice and driving innovation. It's a genuine opportunity to get stuck in and grow your career. And as a community OT, every visit, every conversation and every intervention has a direct and lasting impact on someone's life.
What we're looking for
- A qualified OT with HCPC registration.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working within an MDT and delivering patient-centred care.
- Confidence in equipment prescription, risk assessment and functional evaluation.
- A flexible, proactive and compassionate approach.
