Job summary
Following on from a commitment to investment in the pharmacy team at Kingston Hospital, we have an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and well-respected team as a Senior Pharmacist in Ophthalmology (Band 8a). This is a brand-new post in the trust and will provide professional, governance and financial medicines leadership to the Royal Eye Unit based at Kingston hospital.

Experience in working in ophthalmology is desirable, but not essential for the right candidate, as there will be opportunities to support your learning and development.
Main duties of the job
This is a key role within the pharmacy team delivering services to the ophthalmology service. The post holder will be an active member of both the pharmacy and the ophthalmology teams to ensure continuous two-way exchange of information and maintain high standards of medicines use.
To develop the provision of clinical pharmacy services to the ophthalmology service in accordance with the needs of patients, the clinical team and the required standards of quality and professional practice.
To provide specialist medicines management advice to medical and nursing staff on drugs for the ophthalmology service.

- Demonstrable experience in general clinical practice including medicine and surgery
