Job summary

One application, multiple opportunities in Dispensary Pharmacy

Now is the time to join our team with an unparalleled job opportunity across Croydon Health Services, Epsom & St Helier and Kingston Hospitals.

When you submit an application under any of the hospitals mentioned, you only need to complete 1 application and attend 1 interview to be considered for a Band 4 Dispensary Pharmacy Technician position at any of the three hospitals: Croydon Health Services, Epsom & St Helier, or Kingston Hospital.

For instance, if you apply to Kingston Hospital, your application will also automatically be considered for a job at Epsom & St Helier and Croydon Health Services as well. During the interview, you'll be able to choose your preferred hospital for employment.

This means you have3 job opportunities with just 1 application.

This opportunity is open to recently qualified technicians or those about to register, from both community and hospital backgrounds.

To find out more, please refer to the attached candidate information pack.

Main duties of the job

Your day kicks off with a team huddle in the dispensary to outline the day's priorities. Diving right in, you're in your element, checking and restocking the emergency medication cupboard, getting ahead before the rush begins. Soon, prescriptions start pouring in, and you're busy logging them into the tracking system, carefully labelling each one, and organising new stock. You prepare medications, giving them a final check before handing them over to nurses and porters. While juggling these tasks, you also lead the charge, overseeing Pharmacy Assistants and Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians as they dispense medications.

If you're someone who loves a fast-paced environment and has a knack for details, this role could be your perfect match. Every day brings new challenges and the satisfaction of knowing you're making a real difference in patient care.

Shift patterns:

Our technicians typically work from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with weekend shifts occurring once every 5 weeks (alternating between Saturday and Sunday).

All staff participate in the late duty rota, which finishes at 6pm, however there are occasions when staff may need to stay later to ensure tasks are completed. On average our technicians work 1 late duty per month.

Soon we'll also be updating our department, building a state-of-the-art pharmacy facility featuring an automated dispensing robot and much more!
